The Secret to the Soul
Every time I am asked what I notice first about people the answer is always, the eyes. I grew up being called Doe Eyes and have learned that people can’t hide what the eyes reveal. Some do their best to mask it but the truth is always there is you pay attention.
Your eyes tell the story
Leading me to your heart
And all the places of worry
Behind them you stay trapped
With tall walls to hide the pain
While the maze of hurt is left unmapped
Yet, there remained a spark
Cause hope still lived buried deep
You just needed to be lead out of the dark
Bringing your eyes back to life
The veil has now revealed joy
For your story is not only about strife
Step by step on the journey you go
Whatever it takes, you make the promise
With forever on the line, you won’t be told no
I am captivated with your eyes
Finding happily ever after is where the heart lies
